WildPlay Jones Beach is currently offering unlimited weekend zipline rides for the ultimate adrenaline junkies!
Originally opening in April for the current season, WildPlay Jones Beach is open now through the first week of November, and according to Adam Karp – General Manager of WildPlay Jones Beach – the park’s popularity with the public this year has only fallen by comparison increased on their already successful 2021 season.
“It was great! We’ve had even more visitors at WildPlay this year than ever before,” he said. “We got a lot of people who took an interest in who we are while walking down the boardwalk and seeing us tried it out, had a great time and spread the word.”
Exciting obstacles in WildPlay include walking ropes, climbing cargo nets, flying through the air on rope swings, jumping onto swinging logs, balancing on rickety bridges and more. WildPlay is located on the main promenade and is accessible from the parking lot at square four, although it is also easily accessible from squares five and six. The recommended age is five years and older.
The Flight Pass: Unlimited Zipline rides
Karp noted that in an effort to offer customers more bang for their buck, WildPlay Jones Beach is currently offering unlimited weekend zipline rides for the ultimate adrenaline junkies!
In addition to an all-day adrenaline rush, Flight Pass purchasers will also receive a custom flight pin souvenir and credit to use toward the purchase of park merchandise.
Bringing Art to Jones Beach
In an effort to further engage the community they are serving this year, Karp said WildPlay enlisted the services of a local artist to paint a mural in the park depicting many aspects of Long Island life and culture includes.
“The mural focuses on a giant whale leaping out of the ocean and people sliding off the whale into the park,” Karp continued. “It’s a really impressive piece and people seem to really enjoy it.”
Free field trips to WildPlay
“Public schools and nonprofits are eligible for this very easy-to-obtain grant, and they can actually get government funding to come to us…it’s essentially a free field trip,” he said.
Karp said that WildPlay might seem intimidating at first, but those who have the courage to try something different will find rewards, not just in terms of breakneck fun, but serious confidence-building as well.
“We’re here to help you test your comfort zone and what you can do with different types of obstacles, ranging from giant zip lines to a 40-foot drop, among others,” he said. “When we make someone experience something they never thought they would, it’s like nothing you’ve ever felt. It’s really metaphorical for life and the things that hold you back…don’t limit yourself and don’t tell yourself there’s something you can’t do.”
risk management practices
And for anyone who might feel a certain level of anxiety when it comes to scaling a tightrope or traversing a rope cargo network, Karp firmly believes that WildPlay puts the safety of its guests first, above all else.
“Our top priority is to ensure that we are doing everything we can to keep our customers safe, and to that end, WildPlay is actually much safer than many day-to-day activities that you typically participate in,” he said. “We have an amazing track record. The security cables we use to support our customers can hang a truck, so WildPlay is very, very secure.”
Karp offered a heartfelt “thank you” to WildPlay Jones Beach attendees for making the park such a huge success — both currently in 2022 and in the midst of the pandemic — and encouraged all who want to take a walk on the wild page, come on down and check it out.
“It’s been a blast to be a part of reopening and revitalizing the community and finally showing everyone what we’re about on a larger scale,” he said. “Everyone that came out was very supportive and super excited to challenge themselves and play with us.”
