An outdoor adventure awaits with the Volcon Stag – Field & Stream | Dauktion

Outdoor enthusiasts from anglers to hunters and more have used UTVs to make the most of their time outdoors. For those who want the perfect blend of performance and function, there’s a new, quieter option. Until the unveiling of the Volcon Stag, performance always came at a price – noise. A larger engine and more horsepower inevitably come with a lot of engine noise. The all-electric Stag combines horsepower, comfort, performance and more into one package that opens up a new world of outdoor adventure without the roar of the engine ringing in your ears.

Top performance

Electric UTVs are on the rise, especially for those who want performance without the noise. Imagine driving into your hunting ground and your UTV notifying all the deer in the woods that you are there. The Stag, with on-demand four-wheel drive, provides the ride with only the quiet whirr of the electric motor and the sound of the tires on the ground. It was designed and built by outdoor enthusiasts in Round Rock, Texas using fully waterproof General Motors electric motor components. The Stag pumps out a class-leading 125 hp and 265 FT LB of torque, and if you opt for the overboost mode and paddle shift package you can boost that to over 140 horses, allowing you to go up to 80 MPH. If you want that in a petrol engine, you need a turbocharger and a lot more noise.

The best thing about an electric motor is that there is no lag when the engine builds up to peak speeds. You get full usability of torque and power right out of the box, giving you better connection, better acceleration and better pull. This gives you the power you need when you need it to conquer trail obstacles, scale rocky terrain and reach places others fear to go. The engine operates in three modes, with ECO being smooth delivery for optimal power consumption, Sport mode for aggressive driving and quicker acceleration, and Tow mode that gives you full access to the torque for up to 2,000 pounds of towing capacity.

The Stag has an expected range of over 100 miles on a single charge. The machine comes with a 7.2kW on-board charger that can fully charge the vehicle in less than 6 hours with Volcon’s Level 2 charging capability. This makes that remote hunting ground and/or fishing spot completely within reach.

Customizable space

There’s plenty of room to pack your gear and family for the adventure. The Stag seats four with comfortable seating and full all-round protection through the frame. The durable roll cage gives you the confidence to explore more challenging terrain, so you can worry less about where you’re going and more about why you’re going there – because you can. The fixed cargo area offers 13.4 cubic feet of space and up to 1,550 pounds of capacity, but the Stag does something most other UTVs don’t—you can expand the cargo area by folding down the rear passenger compartment. This allows you up to 26.7 cubic feet, giving you more flexibility to bring gear for hunt camp or transport your fishing kayaks for a backwater adventure on that little lake you’ve always wanted to explore.

An outdoor adventure awaits with the Volcon Stag

Enjoy the ride as much as the adventure

One thing the Volcon Stag does better than any comparable machine is ultimate ride comfort and quality. The deer rolls on BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tires wrapped around beadlock wheels. These tires provide optimal traction while helping to extend battery life. The beadlock wheels reduce punctures so you can be confident the Stag will get you there and get you back home. Adding to the comfort and feel of the machine, the Stag features fully independent front and rear suspension and adjustable shocks to handle the roughest terrain. The shocks allow you to tailor the ride quality to your personal preference, which is a huge plus. Who wants to return to a remote wild camp but beat the ride in it for all the enjoyment? With the first-class suspension of the stay, this is a thing of the past.

The Volcon Stag features a driver-centric cockpit designed with two innovative displays that offer what Volcon calls Human Machine Integration or HMI. The key here is to give the rider full control and visibility of everything that is happening with the machine.

And what about memories if you can no longer experience them later? The Stag has two built-in cameras and the onboard hardware to process video clips of the ride. There is a dedicated track for additional camera mounts so you can add your own cameras and film every aspect of the trip. Whether you’re rolling through the Texan countryside, snaking up a mountain in West Virginia, clawing your way to a scenic overlook in Montana, or blasting across a sand dune in Oregon, the Volcon Stag is equipped to not only get you there in style and comfort, but help you record the journey to relive it for years to come.
