1. Klaus (2019)
Sergio PablosThe critically acclaimed 2D animated family comedy centers on a postman whizzing through the snow with the world’s most famous toy maker.
Winner of BAFTA and Annie Awards for Best Animated Feature. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, the first Netflix Original to be nominated in this category (it lost to toy story 4).
2. Home (2015)
Based on the 2007 children’s book The true meaning of SmekdayThe animated film from Dreamworks and Fox is a space adventure starring the rihanna, Steve Martin, Jim Parsons and Jennifer Lopez. Directed by Tim Johnson (app).
3. We Can Be Heroes (2020)
spy kids helmet Robert Rodriguez wrote and directed this Netflix family-friendly superhero film, a sequel to The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3D. The picture received a mostly warm reception from critics and broke all kinds of viewership records for Netflix. A sequel has been announced.
4. Enola Holmes (2020)
stranger things star Millie Bobby Brown Stars in this critically acclaimed Netflix exclusive based on the popular YA series Nancy Springer. Brown plays the younger sister of Britain’s most famous detective; Sam Claflin, Henry Cavill and Helena Bonham Carter appear in supporting roles. Originally planned as a theatrical release by Warner Bros., Enola Holmes was purchased and redistributed for streaming in light of the coronavirus pandemic. A sequel is planned for this year.
5. Megamind (2010)
The impressive vocal talents of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey and Brad Pitt star one Tom McGrath‘s hilarious superhero comedy about a mega-villain going through a crisis of conscience. a blockbuster, thought leader received praise for its voice acting and stunning 3D graphics.
6. A Cinderella Story (2004)
A shiny teenager takes on the most famous of fairy tale stars Hilary Duff and ChadMichael Murray. Emmy-winning legend Jennifer Coolidge can’t help but walk away with the whole company as a wickedly funny stepmom.
7. The Overnight (2020)
Malin Akkermann and Joe Manganiello Star in this family-friendly Netflix original about tween siblings who discover their seemingly normal mother in the witness protection program is actually a badass. Directed the action comedy trish sheScreenplay by Sarah Rothschild. The Overnight was a hit for Netflix, one of the service’s top-rated programs at release.
8. Yes Day (2021)
Always shining Jennifer Garner elevated Miguel Arteta‘s family comedy about parents who give their children 24 hours to do the housework. A sequel is on the way.
9. The Christmas Chronicles (2018)
In this Netflix Original, Kurt russell is an unusually cool, handsome and smart Santa who helps a brother and sister (Judah Lewis and Darby camp) rediscover the magic of Christmas after losing their father. The Christmas Chronicles was directed by Ton Kaytis (The Angry Birds movie) and produced by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone). The big draw here is Russell’s performance, and he doesn’t disappoint. This isn’t really like any Santa you’ve seen before.
10. The Christmas Chronicles 2 (2020)
In the sequel to the 2018 hit, Santa reunites with the Pierce kids as they take on an adversary who threatens to ruin Christmas for the whole world. The biggest attraction here? Russell’s true love interest Goldie Hawn comes out of semi-retirement to join the cast as Mrs. Claus. Count us among them!
11. Over the Moon (2020)
Oscar-winning Disney animation legend Glen Keane‘s 3D animated sci-fi musical follows a young girl who builds a rocket to meet a mythical goddess on the moon. About the moon is a likely contender for an Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
Legendary director Michael Curtis directed several of the most notable films of Hollywood’s Golden Age, including The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938), Casablanca (1942), Yankee doodle dandy (1942), Mildred Pierce (1945) and That Essential Christmas Musical, the highest-grossing film of 1954. A successful stage adaptation premiered in San Francisco in 2004 and has been touring internationally ever since. Shot in vibrant Technicolor, White Christmas was the first film ever released in VistaVision, a widescreen process that uses twice the surface area of standard 35mm film.
13. A Monster Calls (2016)
Based on the atmospheric children’s book of the same name, YES Bayona‘s visually stunning, high-emotional low-fantasy follows a boy who faces the unthinkable: the inevitable death of his terminally ill mother (Felicity Jones). Sigourney Weaver Co-stars in an imaginative, highly emotional film that has made Bayona one of Hollywood’s most in-demand directors.
14. The Mitchells vs. the Machines (2021)
A breakthrough critical and commercial hit of the pandemic era, Michael Rianda‘s animated sci-fi comedy follows a traveling family who must defend each other and the entire planet from insurgent technology. The Mitchells against the machines was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 94th Academy Awards. The film was recognized for its relatable, inspirational inclusion of LGBTQ character Katie (voice of Abby Jacobson).
15. Paddington (2014)
Paul King‘s live-action family comedy based on the mistress Michael Bond The character was a huge critical and commercial success. Ben Whishaw voices the anthropomorphic bear who emigrates to London, where he is adopted by the Brown family. co-star Nicole Kidman, Sally Hawkins, Hugh Bonneville, Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters, Paddington spawned a sequel and was nominated for Best British Film at the BAFTAs.
16. Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016)
JackBlack enchanted as the voice of Po, a once-hapless panda who is constantly called to action. The whole Kung Fu Panda Trilogy (and spinoffs) makes for great family entertainment – equal parts funny and mind-blowing.
17.Spider Man (2002)
spider–Man holds up pretty well two decades later, thanks to great performances and a character-driven script by David Koepp (Jurassic Park). One of the main reasons for the record-breaking box office success of this trilogy is the romance between Peter Parker (Toby Maguire) and Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten haze). In most Oscar-winning dramas, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a sweeter, more relatable love story. If anything, the film works best when Spidey isn’t in a costume.
18. Spider-Man 2 (2004)
Most great movies start with a great script. Alvin Sargentthe twice Academy Award-winning screenwriter of World War II drama Julia (1977) and Robert Redford‘s Ordinary people (1980) may have been an unusual choice to write a Spidey screenplay at the time, but the result is a focused, self-contained, and downright intoxicating tale. in his heart Spiderman 2 is all about identity and making the tough choices in life.
Don’t let the spandex fool you; this is a big drama. If the 2002 Raimi film was the point where Hollywood realized this genre could be a box office gold mine, Spiderman 2 was when we officially had proof that a superhero movie could be a work of art.
19-20 Despicable Me (2010) and Despicable Me 2 (2013)
The Minions craze began here with this heartwarming computer-animated family film that has more irreverence and belly laughs than most pictures of its kind. Voiced by Steve Carell as Gru, a supervillain who discovers his soft side after adopting three young daughters. Several sequels and prequels followed in this mega-franchise. Minions: The Rise of Gru is planned for a summer release.
21. A Little Princess (1995)
Two-time Oscar winner Alfonso Cuaron‘s first English language film is based on Frances Hodgson Burnett‘s novel about Sara Crewe, a young girl who imagines being a princess in order to endure hard times in the care of the cruel headmistress of a boarding school.
A visually radiant, emotionally mature masterpiece, A little princess was nominated for two Oscars and is considered one of the best live-action family films of all time.
