Garden club meeting in the morning

The Morning Garden Club meets October 13 at 9:30 a.m. at the Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico Archives Building at 208 N. Lea Ave. We will have our time for company and visits first. Please join us for refreshments and a program. Ruben Espinoza is the caretaker of Roswell South Park Cemetery. He will pass on his knowledge about trees and their varieties.

blood drives

Vitalant, at No. 3 Grand Avenue Plaza, has several blood drives scheduled for October: On October 9 from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm the blood mobile will be at Albertsons on South Main Street. On October 13th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the blood collection will take place in the Vitalant Office. On 10/22 from 11.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and on 29.10. Exchange community for new crocheters and knitters

New crochet and knitter exchange communities (CAKE) meet Wednesday afternoons between 4 and 5 p.m. (or 5:30 p.m. if desired) at the Yarn Shop, 103 N. Pennsylvania Ave. The weekly gathering of knitters and crocheters is to make stuff and discuss their craft. VFW meeting

Veterans of Foreign Wars meets on the last Thursday of the month from 7-8 p.m. at Grace Community Church. For more information please contact Commander Jason Burk at 575-910-1860.

Pecos Valley Quilter Gathering

Pecos Valley Quilters meet every Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am at First Methodist Church, 200 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Room 111. The first Wednesday meeting includes a brief business meeting, work together, and the introduction of the block of the month. On the second Wednesday, a member usually teaches a class to improve skills and learn new methods. The third Wednesday is a working day and includes help with sewing. Hawaiian dance group

Looking for new dancers. No experience needed. Everyone over the age of 18 is welcome to participate in a free lesson. We meet Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 505 N. Pennsylvania Ave. For more information, contact Laura Power at 575-840-7234.

Roswell flute ensemble

Sew Crafty Pin Pals Meet

Sew Crafty Pin Pals is an adult-oriented group and is open to anyone who wants to make anything with a pin, whether it’s crocheting, knitting, or sewing. Persons aged 60 and over can participate free of charge. The casual meetup takes place every Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm at the Roswell Museum and is for beginners to intermediate. Monthly Table Top Games Day

Table Top Games Day at the Roswell Museum takes place on the first Saturday of each month from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Children up to the age of 15 participate free of charge. Reservations are required. Local game designer Matt Bromley from Wildbird Games is hosting the games. Learn a new game or improve your skills with like-minded people and players of all ages. The host’s table games vary each month. One table will be dedicated to Dungeons and Dragons games, and additional tables will be available for Bring Your Own Game setups. Kiwanis meeting

The Roswell Kiwanis will conduct their meetings in person. Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the meeting room at Los Cerritos Mexican Kitchen, 2103 N.
