Kate Spade New York announces the official appointment of industry veterans Tom Mora and Jennifer Lyu as Principal Designers across all Kate Spade New York product categories.

In his role, Mora is responsible for the design direction of the Kate Spade New York ready-to-wear, footwear, jewelry, home and licensed lifestyle categories. Lyu directs the design of the brand’s iconic handbag and accessory collections. The creative duo borrows the codes of Kate Spade New York’s heritage brand to infuse their own fresh perspectives on femininity, color, print, wit and fun design into seasonal collections, while pushing innovation and a cohesive design language established across product categories.
Tom and Jennifer are members of the brand’s Ideation Studio – founded by CEO Liz Fraser in Spring 2021 – a core group of creative leads across design, concept + strategy, brand creation, merchandising and marketing who work together to define Kate Spade in New York seasonal and seasonal narratives that provide consistent and cohesive storytelling cues that the client can relate to and be inspired by, so she can then create the stories that make them her own.

A graduate of New York’s Parsons School of Design, Mora previously held positions at Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Coach and J.Crew, where he spent 14 years.
Mora and his husband Richard currently live in New York City with their dog Ash.

Jennifer joined Kate Spade New York from Tory Burch where she led design for handbags and small leather goods. Previously, Jennifer held various design leadership positions at 3.1 Phillip Lim in the women’s and men’s categories including accessories, footwear and RTW. Earlier in her career, Jennifer held senior design positions at Emilio Pucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada.
Lyu currently resides in New York City with her family.
