UPDATE 6 September – Any Universal fan will be keeping a close eye on the progress of the highly anticipated Epic Universe, set to open in Summer 2025. A new aerial photo of Bioreconstruct shows the current progress.
Each country is coming more and more into focus and we can see that How to Train Your Dragon and Yoshi’s Adventures are being worked on in Super Nintendo World.

There have also been a number of rumors recently that there will be a Wizarding World expansion based on the Epic Universe’s Ministry of Magic. Guests entered the main hall via the floo network and exited through the fireplaces with special effects. It is speculated that this land would include an attraction in the Ministry’s atrium telling the story of the trials of Dolores Umbridge.
A trackless ride was originally proposed, but it now appears to have been scrapped. Nothing has been officially confirmed regarding these rumors, but it seems like due to the popularity of the wizarding world at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure, bringing the Ministry of Magic to the Epic Universe would make perfect sense.
From the proposed layout seen in this aerial photo above, it appears the Ministry of Magic would be positioned towards the back of the park. We’ll keep you posted on our news and Facebook page for more updates on Epic Universe. Let us know if you’d like the Ministry of Magic to come to Epic Universe by voting in our poll below.

18th of June – These are exciting times for Universal fans now that we have a confirmed Epic Universe opening date and progress continues. This week, a tweet shows a track arriving for an Intamin roller coaster identical to VelociCoaster and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. While nothing has been confirmed, this coaster is believed to be made easy for a How To Train Your Dragon-themed family coaster.

January 27 – It’s certainly been a bumpy ride for Epic Universe over the past few years. Epic Universe was first announced in 2019 and was originally scheduled to open in 2023. It was then postponed indefinitely in April 2020 and a 2024 opening date was predicted.
During the Comcast 2021 Q4 Earnings Call this morning, it was announced that Epic Universe is now planning to officially open its doors for the summer of 2025. This is definitely positive news for Universal fans as Epic Universe progress has been very little known over the past few months.
Reporter Gabrielle Runson confirmed the 2025 opening date in a tweet that came from the morning earnings call:
When does Epic Universe open? We expect it to open in 2025, “certainly in time for the summer of 2025,” Comcast said during the earnings call this morning. #FlaPol

We know that when Epic Universe opens as Universal Orlando Resort’s third gate, it will make it the largest Universal theme park in North America. We already know that Super Nintendo World will be included, as well as themed lands available on IPs from Illumination (which spawned hits like Despicable Me and The Secret Life of Pets) and DreamWorks Animation (which is known for Madagascar, Kung Fu) based panda and how to train your dragon).
Although it was long thought that this new park would feature another expansion to the blockbuster Wizarding World of Harry Potter Lands, this has not yet been confirmed. Let us know if you’re excited for Epic Universe by leaving us a comment below or on our Facebook page.
